Happy 157th Birthday Paul Gauguin! Where have you been?

Judging by that festive potato, it is also my birthday. Thanks for sending me those wicked awesome candles Dasha! I'd just like to say I'm proud to have exceeded the average life expectancy for Europeans.*

Is it really your birthday. Happy Birthday. Cute candles.

Henry Miller died on your Birthdate.

From Tropic of Cancer, 1934: "I believe that today more than ever a book should be sought after even if it has only one great page in it: we must search for fragments, splinters, toenails, anything that has ore in it, anything that is capable of resuscitating the body and soul. It may be that we are doomed, that there is no hope for us, any of us, but if that is so then let us set up a last agonizing, bloodcurdling howl, a screech of defiance, a war whoop! Away with lamentation! Away with elegies and dirges! Away with biographies and histories, and libraries and museums! Let the dead eat the dead. Let us living ones dance about the rim of the crater, a last expiring dance. But a dance!"

I wish you hope for many birthdays ahead, and when hope fails, an exhilerating dance on the rim of life.

Thanks everyone! My 2nd quarter is starting off quite well.

Kryce, yes it was also Prince's birthday (52), Mike Modano's birthday (36), and Christina Aguilera's birthday (33). OD on Red Bull and Ellen? I'm not AA.

Mattch, last year you gave me that really cool Hamburgler toy from McDonalds. It had a spinny head, which eventually spun into the pearl river from my balcony.

Leah, isn't all poutine veggie poutine? Maybe it's vegan poutine? Or raw-foodist poutine (shudder). Don't worry, I'll come visit someday. Although Montreal is no PG, Lemme tell ya!
