Sometimes I like macs, but sometimes they annoy me. I’m just typing on Leah’s shiny white iBook G4. It seems like everyone has one of these. The 512mb of RAM are nice.

Anyway, I’ve been at my mom’s house with Rock for about a week now. We have just relaxed and hung-out with my sister and stuff. Also hung-out with Chris and Mikara et al, including their 2 month old baby human named Ava Soleil. I got to hold her and she smiled at me. She possesses a very good nature as well as distinct features and chubby cheeks. Dann and Tanya couldn’t come down from Ft. St. Nowhere, for various reasons. Much sadness. Tonight we are eating Christmas fish with my dad, as opposed to Christmas raclette (sp?) which we had with my mom and sis on Tues. Anyway, it has been nice and relaxing but I look forward to doing actual things, such as driving down to Vernon and then back up to PG and so on. Yewah! That ‘w’ was a typo, but I like it.

I’m also looking forward to starting school again. This is because I did well last term (gpa 4.13), which boons my confidence and makes school more fun. I feel like I read: “The Idiot’s Guide to Being Yourself.” It’s not that hard to do, but it's easy to forget what it is.

*warning: the rest is boring hockey stuff

So most of the Olympic rosters are out. I like Canada. Brodeur is a no-brainer, Turco is having a great season, and Luongo was great back in the World Cup in the semis against the Czechs. The defense is great. The forwards I like too. I wouldn’t have minded to see Spezza out there with Heatley, but at least he’s a reserve. I might have gone with Staal over Nash, since Nash has been out for a while, and they are similar pure goal scorers. But I guess they figure Nash will be 100% by Feb, and he does have a size advantage over Staal. I like the choice of Bertuzzi too. His season hasn’t been amazing but he tends to get up for big games. I thought Morrow would make it, since it seems most of the recent teams have had 2 defensive specialist type players (Peca, Maltby, etc). But they have Draper, who has been great on Team Canada. Also Smyth and Doan (who I guess will play with Draper) are great checkers, even though they normally do way more their NHL teams.

The Czechs don’t look super intimidating for some reason. I mean, Jagr and Hasek will always give you a chance to win, but they don’t have nearly the defensive depth of Canada. Slovakia has great offense, as usual, and Chara. But they still don’t have a proven goalie (just Budaj from Colorado). I haven’t seen Finland or Russia’s roster, but Sweden looks the best (other than Canada) so far. They always have great offensive and defensive depth, but this year they will have a decent goalie in Lundquist (sp?) who has been hot for the Rangers. Anyway, whatever.

I say... What the heck (that's how we spell heck right?) is Kris Draper doing on that team? He has something like 20 point less then every other canadian prospect out there. Give me Patrik Marleau or Paul Karia. What about Adam Foote? is'nt he at like minus 30 thousand in the +/- stats? I would greatly prefer some guy like Dan Boyle from Tampa Bay.

My prediction of the most suprising team in Torino is ...... Germany. Watch out! (seriously, you'l; a;; be surprise)

I think Draper is there just to be a defensive specialist. He can harass the players like Forsberg and Jagr.
